Roy Ramy, our founder, would spend weeks in the north country in late August and early September, the   "  Month of the Wild Rice Moon." 
He would stand on the shores of the water eagerly awaiting the return of his canoes weighted down with the harvest.  He kept only the best wild rice for his customers.
